Sauber tips Alonso to defend F1 crowns
February 7, 2007
Alonso could be the key to success for McLaren,” said Peter Sauber, “The last question mark is whether they can get their reliability right.” He added, “Alonso has not only the speed of a Räikkönen, but the completeness and race intelligence of a Schumacher. I don’t really see that with Kimi.”
Well, reliability of McLaren is the key question given their performance last year, and that is the question everyone is asking. Though we have seen that they have the speed based on their Valencia tests. But what we see in tests and what we see on race-weekend sometimes are quiet different.

Giedo van der Garde drives for who?
February 2, 2007
This afternoon, Spyker F1 released a press release claiming that Giedo van der Garde was one of four test drivers for the team. However some time ago he was announced by Super Aguri in the same capacity.
So far Autosport have been the only outlet to get a quote out of Super Aguri, who have acted in astonishment to the Spyker F1 press release. “We are surprised to read the press release issued today as we have a contract with Giedo van der Garde to drive with the Super Aguri F1 team,” Wayne Humphreys, Super Aguri’s Chief Financial Officer has been quoted as saying.
This is really interesting !! We have the images which very much agrees to what super Aguri is saying, he was testing for Super Aguri at Valencia !!

Barrichello happy with first signs
January 27, 2007
“It’s been an exciting test for us this week and I’m glad to have had the chance to drive the new RA107 car,” said Reubens Barrichello, now in his second year with the team. “The whole team has done a great job and the car is already on the same pace as last year’s car, despite not having all of its development parts yet.”
“There is a lot of work to do to get us ready for the start of the season, but from my laps this week, I really enjoyed the feeling of the car and I am look forward to next week’s test in Valencia to continue its development,” he added.
Even we hope that we get to see some fireworks [not literally] from you Reubens.
Hamilton crashes new McLaren F1 car
January 26, 2007
As reported on Gulf-Daily-News
“Lewis is uninjured. However the MP4-22 he was driving is badly damaged and will not be repairable in Valencia for Lewis to continue his test programme tomorrow,” the Mercedes-powered team said. “The cause of the accident is being investigated.”
Double world champion Fernando Alonso, who was testing with Hamilton at the eastern Spanish track, will complete the scheduled programme today.
We hope he is not thinking of racing against Fernando from the first race !!
McLaren launches MP4-22
January 16, 2007
McLaren launched their 2007 challenger, the MP4-22 in Valencia.
The car displayed number “1″ with World Champion Fernando Alonso onboard [though we hope that this is not the only way they would like to retain the Number 1 spot].
Alonso said “This is a fantastic day for me,I am really proud to be introducing myself as a Vodafone McLaren Mercedes driver in my home country and, of course, to help present my new team to the Spanish fans. Although this is my first public event with the team, I have already spent a lot of time with them and my fellow drivers Lewis, Pedro [de la Rosa] and Gary [Paffett], at the McLaren Technology Centre,” Alonso noted, “It is a great team and I am excited about this new beginning.”
So are we Alonso ! Let’s hope your hopes does not get “blown-off” list McLaren’s performance last year.
