Not-so long time ago we report about Super Aguri in talks with an Indian consortium for a possible investment in the team, which didn’t worked out. Later on they got a deal with a Magma Group [backed by a Dubai based investment company]. Super Aguri team owner Aguri Suzuki announced that the deal has collapsed.

Renault quits GPMA
February 16, 2007
On friday, Renault announced that they are quitting GPMA with immediate effect, leaving only Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Honda in the group. Their official press release said:
“Renault believes that in order to achieve constructive dialogs with the FIA on the future direction of the sport, it is important to work in consultation with all manufacturers participating in Formula One, including Ferrari and Toyota”
Now that the peace has been restored between FIA & GPMA [late last year] there really was no need to have GPMA. But we still think that it was a good and way of negotiating their demands with FIA, and GPMA should still be kept, albeit in shadows, only coming out strongly when absolutely needed. But Renault’s quitting it now might also indicate that GPMA was formed keeping short-timespan in mind.
‘07 Aguri fails crash test
January 23, 2007
Super Aguri’s 2007 car has reportedly failed its mandatory FIA crash test. It is widely believed that the car, to be designated ‘SA07′, is controversially a development of the ‘RA106′ that Honda raced in Formula One in 2006. Super Aguri is already using last year’s Honda in winter tests.
The Honda-powered team evidently made chassis modifications to the sides of the cockpit and the rear structure so that it would pass the stricter tests introduced for 2007. The setback could now delay the launch of the car until late February. It is understood that the SA07 specifically failed the new rear-impact test after passing the frontal test.
