Spyker technical boss Mike Gascoyne said: “I agreed with Flavio [Briatore, team principal] when he replaced Button with Alonso. I think Alonso had the spark that made him stand out. Fernando won the championship last year when the car wasn’t at times the quickest - does he [Button] have the race craft and the ability to do that? That’s a question mark. Fernando you knew could do that, and Raikkonen the same.”

Some strong words against Jenson ? We have many times said that he [Jenson] is an over-rated driver, driving for an under-performing team, who [team] at the start of each season make bold statements but never comes even close to that.

So should we take our words back since Jenson had won 1 race ? We don’t think so. We still believe he is over-rated and we still believe Honda is an under-performing team. We wish they would prove us wrong this year [hopefully].
