Sauber warns of tough year for Ferrari
January 16, 2007
“After Michael it’ll be a difficult year for Ferrari,” Peter Sauber said. “Michael was really fast and also excellent on the technical side. I’m sure Jean Todt knows exactly how good Raikkonen is and where his strengths and weaknesses are.”
“Kimi isn’t so interested in the technical issues and today in F1 that’s vital to develop the car,” he added. “I think Felipe will be a good support for him and he made a good step forward last year.”
We all know the legend of Michael Schumacher when it comes to technicalities and the detailed inputs he gave to engineers regarding this cars. And we also know that Kimi is not in the same league. But we are sure that Ferrari would have these things in mind before they signed Kimi.

They’ve still got Gene, Badoer and Massa. They’ve all been dedicated Ferrari testers at one time or another and from what I’ve heard Michael is helping the engineers interpret what the drivers are saying and linking it to the telemtry.

I suppose I should have expected people making comparisons bet Kimi and Schumacher… but this is ridiculous. The guy’s only been there for a handful of days, and there’ve been all these pronouncements made about his attitude and how he’s inferior to Schumacher etc. I for one am sick of it… Bring on the races!!

Yes Howard .. even I heard Michael is helping engineers. He was present when Felipe took F2007 out for the shakedown.
Dekrazee1, comparisons between Kimi & Michael are obvious. That’s one of the easiest way of making the headlines of newspapers, irrespective of how you & me feel about it.
